[FIC] The Hideout

Title: The Hideout
Characters: Yesung, Eunhyuk, Sungmin
Rating: G
Wordcount: 1.040
Summary: In the end he just wants a place to sit in silence
A/N: So I made another one of my adventure fics. ^^ This time I asked my unni-in-law to give me five words to use in the story. She also named the characters and the place. Those of you who want, can have a guess at what the words were. The other two things are getting clear throughout the story I guess. ^^ This story kind of links to Creep, but not necessarily. xD

It was a dark, small, solitary and silent place..
It was perfect.

The twenty-five year old leaned his head against the wall behind him as a satisfied smile pulled up the corners of his mouth. His thoughts drifted off to the dream from earlier that night. Well, nightmare was probably a better word for it.
He couldn’t believe himself, waking up from a nightmare.. How long ago had it been since he had had a nightmare anyway? What reason could he possibly have had to suddenly get one again now? But that wasn’t even the worst part, really.. No. What bothered him most was the subject of his nightmare..

Dolls.

Living, breathing, talking dolls. Some only as small as his hand, others far bigger than him, but all just as cute, pretty and-

Did he just call a doll cute and pretty?
He seriously needed to find a girlfriend..
Fast.

With a sigh, he closed his eyes and enjoyed the calm serenity of his hideout. He had fled his bed, for he could not sleep anymore anyway, and had went on a search to find a nice place to sit. Too bad for him, the living room was taken by a loudly snoring Kyuhyun, who probably drank too much wine again. That maknae only snored when he drank too much. Babo. Overtaking the whole living room so that it became impossible for others to watch TV anymore.
Although, he had to admit to the silence, it was better to have Kyuhyun snore next to you than Shindong when you tried watching TV. At least Kyuhyun was a nice kid. He let you take half of the couch from him and nicely slept on the other half, without bothering you by anything but his snoring. Shindong.. Well, let’s just say Shindong was less nice.. Much less. Oh and he smelled.. And he farted as well from time to time. Yes, surely Kyuhyun was a better drunk companion to have than Shindong.

A loud thud suddenly broke through the silence that had surrounded him and some distant talking could be heard. He wondered what was happening in the dorm, but didn’t bother to get up and go have a look. He wasn’t going to give up his nice new hideout just like that. To his great horror, the voices came closer and then he heard the door open. Immediately, Kyuhyun’s snoring poured back into the room, making him curse whoever had opened the door. Luckily the door was closed moments later and footsteps could be heard. A chair was pulled backwards and he imagined the person entering sitting down on it.

“So what were you trying to say?” a voice asked, making him aware of the fact that there must have been two people entering the room. He silently breathed in and opened his eyes again, turning his head to the left to look at the little ray of light entering his hiding spot. The absence of dust particles made it obvious that it was only artificial light and not the sun. Which reminded him of the fact that it would be pretty weird for the sun to shine at 30 minutes past midnight.

“I can’t find hyung.” a different voice broke through his thoughts. He recognised Sungmin’s soothing vocals and felt a little smile appear on his face. Sungmin was his former roommate, but after a little incident that happened a few months ago, the boy had pretty much begged all the other members to allow him to change rooms. Of course no one could resist Sungmin’s puppy eyes that touched your very soul, so now Sungmin was rooming with Kyuhyun, and he had a whole room for himself. None of the other members wanted to room with him anymore either.. Lucky him.

“What do you mean you can’t find hyung? Didn’t he go to bed early?” the first voice sounded again. He now also noticed the person talking was Hyukjae. So those two had disturbed his peace, huh? Seriously, did they have no conscious? Taking away someone’s peace and quiet like that. Youth these days.. Nothing to do with them.

“He did. But I went to check if he was sleeping well and he wasn’t there anymore. I searched the whole dorm, but he’s nowhere to be found.” Sungmin retorted, sounding a little desperate.

“Did you check the upstairs dorm?”

“Yes. He wasn’t there.” He could hear someone sigh. “And I couldn’t find him on the roof either. I really searched every corner of the dorm, but there’s no sign of him.”

“That’s not possible, hyung. You know Yesung hyung would never go somewhere all by himself without telling anyone.” Hyukjae was now calming down the older one.

“Maybe he did this time, Hyukkie! Maybe he was really hurt when I asked to change rooms! I’ve been checking up on him every night since then and he’s always sleeping so restless.. Maybe he thinks we hate him now and has run off somewhere! Maybe he got hit by a car and is now slowly dying somewhere all by himself with no friends to be with him in his last moments..” He could hear by the sound of Sungmin’s voice that the boy was close to tears. If he continued thinking about all kinds of ramp scenarios much longer, the younger would soon be crying his heart out. That’s why he decided to interrupt them.

And also because he didn’t really feel like hearing more of his own death scenes.
Like talking dolls weren’t enough of a nightmare already.
Cute and pretty talking dolls.

A girlfriend.
He should really find one.

“Or maybe he got lost and is now being attacked by a bunch of mur-”

“Seriously, is there nowhere in this whole place where one can get some peace and quiet?”

His words cut right through Sungmin’s start of a new death scene and were followed by a sudden silence. He was sure that he would be able to hear a feather drop if he listened carefully. After a few moments of that silence, one of his dongsaengs drew a trembling breath, before voicing what probably were both their thoughts.

“Did that kitchen cupboard just talk to us?”
