Temple Grandin (2010) – Claire Danes, Julia Ormond
Biopic of Temple Grandin, an autistic woman who overcame the limitations imposed on her by her condition to become an expert in the field of animal husbandry. She developed an interest in cattle early in life while spending time at her Aunt and Uncle's ranch. She did not speak until age four and had difficulty right through high school, mostly in dealing with people. Her mother was very supportive as were some of her teachers. She is noted for creating her 'hug box', widely recognized today as a way of relieving stress and her humane design for the treatment of cattle in processing plants, even winning an award from PETA. Today, she is a professor at Colorado State University.

The Greatest Game Ever Played (2005) – Shia LeBoeuf, Stephen Dillane

A dozen years later, a young American, Francis Ouimet, fights against the same prejudice, as well as his own father's disdain, for a chance to participate in the U.S. Open against his idol -- Harry Vardon. The struggles of both men for acceptance provides the background for an amazing contest of skills.

Young Bruno lives a wealthy lifestyle in prewar Germany along with his mother, elder sister, and SS Commandant father. The family relocates to the countryside where his father is assigned to take command a prison camp. A few days later, Bruno befriends another youth, strangely dressed in striped pajamas, named Shmuel who lives behind an electrified fence. Bruno will soon find out that he is not permitted to befriend his new friend as he is a Jew, and that the neighboring yard is actually a prison camp for Jews awaiting extermination.

None are as he imagines or hopes. Will they let him see themselves as they are, and can this dad adapt?

Tokyo Tower (2007) – Joe Odagiri, Kirin Kiki
Based on an auto-biographical novel by Renaissance man Lili Franky, Tokyo Tower tells the story of Masaya and his mother Eiko. The film opens on the inevitable: Eiko has already been admitted to the hospital, while Masaya balances spending time with his mother and working at multiple jobs, including one as a perverted radio personality. Meanwhile, the film flashes back to Masaya's childhood, when his mother moved them back to her hometown to get away from his deadbeat dad, who eventually does have a minor presence in his life. Tired of the countryside, Masaya moves to Tokyo to go to art school, but ends up spending his mother's money to take on some of his father's worst habits. Eiko works even harder to support her son, while he gradually gets deeper into debt. However, by the time he gets back on his feet, his mother has been diagnosed with cancer. Looking for a chance to finally take care of his mother, he asks her to live with him in Tokyo, where she will spend the rest of her days.

But things change when he starts forgetting things and is diagnosed with an early onset of Alzheimer.

Mike decides to leave the game and asks Scarlett to marry him which she does. During their marriage, Mike could only whine about the life he lost because he married her. So she throws him out. And when he loses his job, he returns to the only place he's happy at - his old high school. And while looking at his high school photo, a janitor asks him if he wishes he could be 17 again and he says yes. One night while driving he sees the janitor on a bridge and apparently jumps in and he goes after him. When he returns to his friend, Ned's house, where he has been staying, he sees that he is 17 again. He decides to take this opportunity to get the life he lost.

Based on the true story of Australian pianist David Helfgott, this delightful movie charts the early and traumatic early years. Telling the story in flashback we see David as he grows up and into a child prodigy while his father abuses him and his siblings with the memory of his childhood in Europe and the loss of his family in the concentration camps. David finally breaks away from his father and goes away to study overseas, he later suffers a breakdown and returns to Australia and a life in an institution. Many years later he is released and through several twists of fate (in reality even more unlikely than film portrays) he starts playing a piano in a bar before finally returning to the concert hall.

So he tries to get Navorski to leave but Navorski remains where he is. Navorski makes friends with some of the people who work in the airport and is attracted to a flight attendant he runs into whenever she comes in.
