If there was one thing in the world Hyukjae didn’t like, it was people not taking care of their personal hygiene. After all, the amount of stench one person could emit was terrible when not having washed for a few days. Now Hyukjae wasn’t a clean freak - showering took time, something he didn’t always have either - but he at least tried to hop under the shower every two days and always made sure he didn’t smell. All in all, he was a normal, hygienic young man, something which had made his life easier often enough. But of course, nothing is ever completely positive, so there was a negative part about Hyukjae’s need for hygiene as well; an incredible urge to fend off bacteria’s.

And for the sole purpose of bugging the living daylights out of him, life had given him a younger brother who was probably the most unhygienic bray on earth. A guy that made anyone who met him probably want to stuff his head under a tap and force some water over that greasy face - or at least that’s what Hyukjae thought. And if he was honest, he’d probably just help whoever the person was by holding Kyuhyun’s feet down so he couldn’t kick - yes, that was the name of this violator of all human hygiene rules; Kyuhyun.

If they’d ask him, Hyukjae would happily agree that his name alone sounded dirty and unhygienic already, but no one ever did ask him of course. What irked him most was that he couldn’t force his brother to wash more, because they were about equally as strong, but Kyuhyun was a lot brattier and snarkier, so anytime they discussed it, the younger one would win.

It was on a random winter’s day that the miracle happened. Kyuhyun had been tapping away on his keyboard like any other day, when Hyukjae had walked in to tell him dinner was ready (or better; the pizza had arrived, since their parents were out and neither of them knew how to cook). Yet the elder stopped dead in his track when he saw the state his brother’s room was in. It was true that he hadn’t been there for a long time, but the kind of mess that was displayed in front of him was mind-blowing.

There were clothes EVERYWHERE. On the bed, on the ground, on the desk, on the desk chair, hell, even the computer had a sweater thrown over it. But the clothes weren’t the only thing sprawled around. Little pieces of paper from various candy and cookies lay sprawled all over the desk and Hyukjae was sure there had to be mice in Kyuhyun’s room - it couldn’t be that no weird insect or crawly animal was living in that room.

The mess was not the most shocking part, however. What totally freaked Hyukjae out was the entire circle around Kyuhyun’s chair that was covered in some strange, white stuff. If he didn’t know any better, he’d say that they were outside and it had snowed in such a small circle around his brother. Yet when Kyuhyun brushed a hand through his hair and Hyukjae saw a few more ‘snowflakes’ falling down, he realised what he was really looking at, and he freaked out completely.

“Kyuhyun-ah!” he yelled, prancing through the mess without thinking about all the filth. He grabbed his brother’s ear the moment he reached him and yanked the brat away from the screen. The response was immediate as Kyuhyun yelped in pain and blindly grabbed at the hand holding his ear in a tight grip. Hyukjae didn’t listen to the shouting, however, merely pulling harder as to keep his brother from escaping.

“Hyung! Ouch! Hyung what are you- OUCH! What the hell is this? What are you doing!? This is child abuse! You’re killing me!” Kyuhyun growled, but there was no compassion coming from the older male as he made him cross the hallway and enter the bathroom. Some moments later, Kyuhyun found himself standing in the shower, still fully clothed, and then the cold water hit him, making him shriek in a very unmanly way. Hyukjae was out the bathroom door again before he could attack, however, and moments later he could hear the lock turn.

“You’re not getting out until you’re completely washed and smell like a clean person, Kyu!” Hyukjae called out from behind the closed door as Kyuhyun turned off the water. “And make sure there’s no more snowflakes in your hair either!” With that, he walked away from the bathroom and went downstairs to heavily scrub his hands before eating his pizza.

It was near to an hour later when he finally heard the water of the shower being turned on again and a satisfied smile spread on his face. Another thirty minutes later - a new record for Kyuhyun; his longest shower ever - an annoyed yell sounded through the house. Hyukjae kindly unlocked the bathroom door again and let his fresh and clean, but fuming brother out, only to tell him that he would have to clean his room and make it smell as fresh as he did in order to get his computer screen back.

Kyuhyun never had snowflakes in his hair anymore after that day.
